S.JEYAKUMAR

JEYAKUMAR read Law and Economics at the University of Keele and obtained an Upper Second-Class Honours degree. He was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1992 after completing his Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) at the University of Malaya.

As an advocate of over twenty-nine (29) years standing he has had the privilege of appearing as counsel in various branches of the law in all the Courts of Malaya. His numerous cases have been reported in the local journals since 1995 and continuing.

During this time in practice, he has acted in various contractual and commercial disputes which have encapsulated a gamut of processes from injunctions to other intricate interlocutory applications and has appeared as lead counsel in full trials on a regular basis. He has also handled land matters, negligence claims, Industrial Court disputes, defamation proceedings, housing developer claims, contested divorce proceedings and various other diverse litigation matters.

He is a panel lawyer for the Malaysian Bar Council. He has served in various capacities for the Johor Bar Committee including as Legal Aid Chairman, Publications Chairman and Sports Chairman. He has also served as the Chairman of the Malacca Johor Diocese Catholic Lawyers Guild.
