ALIAS RASMAN

ALIAS completed his pupillage at Messrs. Ikbal Salam & Associates where he gained vast exposure on dealings with Johor’s GLCs, municipal councils and government agencies. Upon being admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2015, he started his practice as a general litigation, contentious and non-contentious matters practitioner in Messrs. Lau Kok Guan, Liana & Kuan where he gained exposure in tax and customs practice.

Alias was then admitted as a Partner in Messrs. Clarence Edwin Law Offices where he was in charge principally of the corporate, commercial and conveyancing practice since 2016 before setting up and manage Messrs. Alias, Kang, Ungku Mas & Associates with other two (2) co- founders and partners. To-date, Alias has experience in various corporate and commercial work, including share sale agreements, assets agreements and joint venture agreements. Alias is also experienced in real estate transactions where he has acted for local and foreign clients on matters relating to leases, tenancies, disposal and acquisition of properties, joint development and land development matters.

Alias has also been admitted as Peguam Syarie (Syarie Counsel) of Johor’s Syariah Courts since 2016 which makes him eligible to draft Hibah & Wasiat, and deal with Islamic criminal cases, matrimonial cases, distribution i.e. Faraidh and other Islamic family disputes and matters.

During pupillage, involved and exposed to civil proceedings, regulations and compliances in acting for Johor’s GLCs, Religious Authority i.e. advising on Waqf issues and several Rules (Kaedah) under the enactments or laws of Johor, obtaining order from the relevant courts and authorities to claim or reclaim converted Muslims (Muallafs) deceased bodies etc.) and Local Authorities i.e. setting up Yayasan etc.) etc.
